How to brake with a controller

Hi everyone,

Hooked up a y31c controller running two 775 motors and variable pedal. All is working but how can I easily add braking? Using the brakes from the controller just cuts the motor letting my son's car Ccoast to a stop. Not really braking.

Please be gentle, I'm not savvy with electronics and auto relays. The easiest method would much appreciated.
