Very nice. I've been wanting to build one like this for a while. Where did you source the rear wheels from? Have you ever used belt drive before? Any words of wisdom there if you have? Any feedback about that controller? Thanks for sharing

hi Wesley,the wheels are of a 49cc quad bike.the drive wheels are actually the front wheels off the quad.swapping the disc rotors for a sprockets.using the quads rear wheels on the front of the jeep but adding 2 inner bearings on each wheel (they originally bolted to a live axle with a bearing housing)There are 2 sorts of wheels for these quad bikes, inner bearing hole centres is the key. 10mm and the ones i used are 12mm so they fitted onto the front spindles without any mods.the 12mm rear axle does need strenghtening to prevent the wheels from towing in under weight of the driver,this i used a aluminum 20mm square tube, used some bolts and flat plate to make clamps. worked good.first few tests the chain was jumping off so i took 2 links out and kept them really short and with enough tension as to not bend the axle to much. and this worked.The motion dynamics controllers work very good in this application,not computer programmable but very simple to wire up and the braking works excellent. the price and being in Australia is a bonus for us mob down here.This build is for a friends son,would i build another one YES but a 2 seater for a wider wheel base for sure.id probably some how utuilise the axle of the quad bike,but that would need to be extended or just make another axle around the 19mm diameter so the other style quad bike wheels would fit. as far as belt drive, way easier for alignment ive found. being 15mm wide you have more coverage on the sprockets,room for the flex of the axle. but saying that finding the rear drive sprockets is a mission in Australia if you need to change the gear ratio for wheel sizes.
