CJB Fire Truck

Post by CJB »

Getting my page set up here for a fire truck build. Picked this beauty up a few weeks ago. THIS IS THE LAST ONE! DANGIT!! THE LAST ONE! I wasn't going to get it but this is one of the few rides remaining on my 'bucket list' so I kind of had to. The wife helped talk me into it as well. Almost a 3 hour drive to get it, but well worth it I say.

Just starting to get it tore down and start up with the lighting.

Going 3x 3W LEDs in each red light up top, all controlled by one of my custom strobe controllers.

I'll be bringing in many, many more lights and adding wherever I can find space.
I also plan on installing a water tank and pump to make the hose work. We'll see how that goes. :?

Drive will eventually be 12+6 on a Turbo Timer soft start.

I will be carefully removing all wiring, so when I have all that out it'll be up for sale along with the circuit board. All works. ;)

A few updates here. I've got 90% of the lighting done and the water delivery system in place. I decided to install a way to just hook up the garden hose. That way he's limited on where (and who) he can spray!

I've done some detail painting since these photos. I'll get some final pics when that's all done.

Those long, narrow bright headlights on the front can be found HERE

Siren can be found HERE
Best part of this one is the volume control! Siren tones are OK. Air horn is B.A.

Oh that's sweeeeeeet!
The p.a./siren gizzy is sick. That's must have!
Roadmonkey is gonna have some work ahead of him!
Hope the boys eye is OK... that was a direct BLAST!
hey, so the pump deal must not be available huh, to have set it up to work off the hose? Or is that to enable more than a gallon before the 5 minute refill? I haven't really checked around yet, cuz I'm only playing with a loaner.... but the pump has no pressure build up. I did get the thing (truck board) working, and my daughter is loving it! The day it goes away the streets will fill with tears =(

This model did not come with the tank & pump. Only the red one does I believe. I just used a garden hose splitter valve thingy and put a plug on the 'input' side which you'd normally connect to your faucet.

The boy is fine. lol Live and learn! This thing is still only 12v because of the working circuit board. If that ever goes out I'll go 18v with it.

The siren is the best one I've used so far. The tones aren't bad, the air horn is sweet and the volume control is the BEST! I think I linked to it above. I've got some more LEDs to put in but I haven't gotten around to it yet.

Just came home with another red one. Man, how the heck does that dash come out?
Steering wheel wires all cut, my daughter noticed the wheel was on upside down? It's dirty and rough, but complete =/

I believe there are exactly 1.2 million screws in these things! And they never release the part you think they do!
