Harley Davidson Ninja KFX- UpCycle

Post by gwinnythepooh »

This is my Upcycle project... meaning goal was to spend as little money as possible.

Ninja was $20. Have a PW battery. Used Decals from Lightning McQueen that were left over (flames) made HD decals with last sheet of bumper sticker paper, and used left over cans of paint from other projects. Woop Woop! And it looks awesome.

Start:

Its kind of dark out, but all the marks in the paint are reflections of the trees above, thats how shiny...

What looks like orange peel is a tree

I left the wheels and foot plates silver, because...lets be real, I didn't feel like taking push nuts off today. This took me 4.5 hours total, start to finish.
I'll put it back together tomorrow.

Its the Krylon Fusion for Plastics clear. Its junk to use on paint, its meant to put on bare plastic, and it works fantastic!!! Its at Walmart with the rest of the Fusion. One can goes through a lot of projects.

So you just spray it over the bare plastic with no sanding? How many coats do you use? Seems like a good way to spruce up worn plastic

Yeah, its really just a refresher... so I'm sure eventually it would peel off? but its all about making it looks new again. I did 2 coats.

Thanks, it was an easy and fun flip since I was trying not to spend any money. Now to see how fast I can sell it
