Slightly girly gator- Customer Paint Job

Post by gwinnythepooh »

A lady brought this to me last month, her dad found it abandoned in a trailer park. It was trashed. but- it was a power lift and everything worked... so she had me make it new again for Christmas. It is for 2 girls, 7 & 4- so we did a few pink accents.

This is the only before shot I got :( just imagine the whole thing like this:

Painted everything, had to get a fender, new grill, horn, and key and headlights.

Excellent work as usual. I'm assuming you used a new sticker sheet? That looks just like the original color. Did you find a John Deere green spray paint?

Nice work. I saw the shifter and gas cap and was like "Did she seriously miss that sun faded red?" Then I realized it was painted pink and reminded never to second guess your attention to detail.

Haha. They were actually still pretty red. It looks really nice this way. Very understated girl.

Yes, new decal sheet. and added some of my own creations, like the licence plate and the pink deere in the middle of the rear end.

I used Grass Green 2X and the sun yellow 2X. Its actually a little deeper green than stock and it looks really nice

As always, it turned out great. I tried a couple total paint flips, but the wife decided they were taking me too much time. :? She's right, they were. If anything requires more than a little accessory paint now I don't pick it up. You're turning this new paint flip into a science. Trashed ride-ons come in one door and unique like new treasures go out the other. Keep it up!

I agree Sig, and if I had a full time day job it would be hard. I do have it down to a science that its not too big of a deal for me, but I have the luxury of going out to spray every 15 minutes when I need to. If I had to do it in my spare time it would be a nightmare. Especially with cure times/coats etc.

I am going to start working from home, but will still be able to sand/spray while I work so it will work out.

so... you're going to start churning these out FASTER than you already do now??
I hope the ppl at Home Depot (or wherever you buy your paint) treat you well... you're putting their kids through college!

Seriously though, it looks great. Nice work, Gwinny!

, no. I don't "really" work now. I mean I run 3 businesses from home but I mean taking a real job from home. So it might actually slow me down a few hours. Lol!

Since I get carded now at the HD I think they think I'm actually a huffing addict.
Atleast I'm a colorful one :)

  You caught me. This is my first "restore to original" and it is obvious it was bugging me. I had to switch up a few things like the seat and the pedal. Thankfully the customer loved it.
