I've been running an 18v Gaucho for years with zero issues. Gaucho gear boxes are heftier than the standard power wheels parts and can handle it. You could always look for motors/GB from a Gaucho Super Power. Not sure if they fit without modification but they are even beefier yet.

Short answer is use at your own risk. It was designed for 12+6. Will it handle 12+12? Maybe. Probably. But I don't publicly recommend it.
Battery saver circuit requires an additional relay. Any SPST or SPDT Bosch style relay will do fine.

This seems like it would work. SW2 will not work unless SW1 is ON. However, if SW2 is in the ON position when SW1 is flipped on, you'll go from 12v to 36V real quick. I suggest making SW2 a momentary pushbutton.

Re: Relay parasitic drain?
A relay should not draw any current unless the coil is connected to both +12v and Ground. Not that I'm aware of anyway.
If you can figure out which relay is causing the draw you can try a new relay there and/or troubleshoot down the lines connected to that relay.
