Re: Yamaha Raptor Only Uses 2nd Gear

If both motors are working in high gear, look for a faulty high/low switch or a broken wire at the switch. Test the switch using an ohm meter if you see no physical damage to wiring. Clean all corrosion at switch connections. Should find/fix your problem around that switch.

Depending on the manufacturer, most of the rides with the steering wheel sounds are run off of AA batteries which are contained in the steering wheel compartment itself. It is usually a separate soundbox with it's own batteries and are not run off of the main battery that power the wheels.

You can connect a 12v battery straight to the tabs on the motor and it will tell you if the motor is bad or not. It sounds like t you either have a bad motor or a break in the low speed circuit. Check wire connections for corrosion or a broken tab/terminal.

That might be broken solder joints on the circuit board. Check the back side of the board and see if the solder joints at that plug are cracked or broken. If they are damaged, you would just need to re-flow solder (soldering iron or solder gun).

The breaker could be getting weak. If there are no other problems with the ride, you could swap the breaker for a fuse. I would start at a 30a fuse and if it blows you could increase to a 40a fuse. Do not increase above a 40a fuse.
