perfect, a little tight, but they fit right in. No mod needed. They do stick out farther though, so your axle may not work with the stock wheels. I did nto try it that way.

Do you mean the square tubing on the 4x4?
I believe it was 16ga(0.065"). Definitely could be done on a small mig by all means. Probably would have been quicker. Tig is just fun though(and frustrating sometimes).

Actually the 3amp charger I bought from tnc foes shut off when fully charged. I just used it for the first time today. Not sure if it will maintain but it won't boil the Batts at least.
